In order to ensure that in future Tukuta village has supplementary nutrition for the children, WHEAMS has planted bananas, oranges, guavas, and pawpaws trees. This variety of fruit give the children in the pre-school feeding program additional nutrients on top of the daily porridge. The surplus fruit will be sold to the community for nutrition and also serving the purpose of sustaining the education project.
Finally, digging planting holes and filling them with compost manure continues as an ongoing project. While people in the area have a limited understaning of the possibilities in growing a variety of fruit in the area, WHEAMS does not only want to talk about it, but also wants to lead by example the diversity of fruit that the area can produce. Following proper and modern methods of farming will ensure high and quality productivity.
